You have arrived at the website for Quartessence, an exciting new barbershop quartet based out of Sacramento CA.  With a young, fresh sound that is sure to please any musical taste, Quartessence has been treating audiences in the Sacramento region to the unspoiled, pure harmonies only found in a cappella singing.


Our four members have a variety of musical backgrounds including classical vocals, solo work, vocal jazz and various instrumental genres including dixieland jazz and bluegrass. While we all have different musical histories we all share a common love of barbershop singing and 4 part harmony.


If you are looking to add a musical touch of class to any occasion, Quartessence quartet would love to be a part of your special event.

Singing For Life

The Sacramento Capitolaires and Quartessence participated in the Barbershop Harmony Society's Annual "Singing for Life" blood drive in Sun City Roseville.  The event was a great opportunity to encourage our chapter members to donate blood as well as to thank the blood donors by providing them with some free live entertainment.   Quartessence believes that blood donation is a wonderful community service that helps to save countless lives every year.  Thank you to all of those who donated today!
