You have arrived at the website for Quartessence, an exciting new barbershop quartet based out of Sacramento CA.  With a young, fresh sound that is sure to please any musical taste, Quartessence has been treating audiences in the Sacramento region to the unspoiled, pure harmonies only found in a cappella singing.


Our four members have a variety of musical backgrounds including classical vocals, solo work, vocal jazz and various instrumental genres including dixieland jazz and bluegrass. While we all have different musical histories we all share a common love of barbershop singing and 4 part harmony.

Chili Party

We were invited to a chili party at the home of one of our chapter members.  It was an afternoon of great food and great fun.  We enjoyed singing for everyone (and with everyone.)   The following photo is probably not one of our best but who looks their best after a few drinks and a few hours singing?
